Brassica Brassica - DomestiCale Me! is a performance, performative ballgown and sound-exploration made with cabbage - a lot of cabbage.
The performance is an ode to cabbage, or brassicas as they are familiarly known. With their layered and sturdy personalities brassicas have throughout our shared history, never stopped unfolding, bewildering and filling our bellies. Saviours in hard-times and reluctantly forked around plates in peace-times. Reliable fart-inducers. Ranging from the wild and salty Crambe maritima to the luxurious leaf-bubbling Savoy - and not to be forgotten ever reliable Hodekål - steamed, boiled, cultivated, chomped and stomped. Yet do we often enough show appreciation to our smell-festive friends, or has their longlasting presence led us to take them for granted?
